The original MyBrewbot firmware relied on a cloud service, an app and an update server that have all gone. OurBrewbot is free, open-source replacement firmware that runs entirely on your own network, with no cloud account needed.

Your probes, smart plugs and fermentation profiles keep working as before, and your existing settings files are read unchanged.
Temperature control
Up to 4 fermenters with DS18B20 probes, heating and cooling through 433 MHz RF smart plugs, hysteresis and compressor protection.
Fermentation profiles
4 editable profiles of up to 15 steps each. Assign one to any fermenter, then start, pause or skip steps.
Tilt & iSpindel
Tilt and Tilt Pro hydrometers through the built-in HM-10 Bluetooth module, and iSpindel over WiFi.
Home Assistant
MQTT with Home Assistant discovery. Entities appear automatically, and you can optionally control the fermenters from Home Assistant.
Brewfather & Brewer's Friend
Log readings to either service, switched on or off per fermenter.
Local web admin
Set up probes, fermenters, hydrometers, plugs and services from any browser at ourbrewbot-XXXXXX.local.
REST API
Every setting and reading is available as JSON over HTTP on your local network.
Easy updates
Install from this website with a USB cable, then update over WiFi from the device's own update page.
Diagnostics
Remote syslog, a crash report on the next boot, a file browser for settings and a Bluetooth console.
What's gone
- The
mybrewbot.co.ukcloud backend. The server no longer exists. - The Blynk app, replaced by the web admin page, the REST API and Home Assistant.
What you need
- A MyBrewbot controller or an ESP8266 NodeMCU board wired the same way
- A USB cable that carries data, not just power
- Chrome or Edge on a computer, for the browser installer
- A 2.4 GHz WiFi network
